Health
Paying for increasingly expensive health care, encouraging healthy lifestyles and finding the best ways to ensure high quality care are but three of the many challenges facing the health care industry. Each day, we work with the country’s leading health plans, information service providers and non-profit organizations.
We help to answer the tough questions:
- What are effective communication strategies and product designs for smart health care decision-making?
- What strategies offer some degree of coverage and improved access to care for the uninsured?
- How can health plans, purchasers and consumers play a role in ensuring that medical research evidence drives decision-making about treatments and medical care?
- How should we build new support systems for caregivers and those with chronic health conditions?
Most of these topics are addressed in targeted studies for private clients, but we also monitor a broad spectrum of health care issues through two comprehensive and timely annual surveys: the Health Confidence Survey (HCS) (established 1998), and the Consumerism in Health Care Survey (since 2005). These publicly-released studies receive substantial media and industry attention, as they track attitudes and trends in today’s health care system and decision-making.
